Nimue | Necklace with Handpainted Cabochon

Nimue is an important figure in Welsh and Breton legends, particularly Arthurian legends. She appears under various names, including Viviane, Elaine, Niniane, Nivian, Nyneve, Nimueh, or Lady of the Lake, Guardian of the Spring, Queen of the Water, or Lady of the Well. Nimue is the keeper of the lake from which Arthur received the sword Excalibur. She is considered Lancelot's foster mother and also teacher or lover of the magician Merlin.
